Born and raised in Badulla, Sri Lanka, Darshana Godawaththa's journey has never followed a straight line — and that's exactly what shaped him into the Coach he is today.

From studying Film & Television at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Training Institute, to earning a scholarship to China where he spent 10 years between the Beijing Language and Culture University and the Beijing Film Academy — living and working within Beijing's vibrant expat community — Darshana developed a rare ability to understand people across cultures, languages, and mindsets.

That global perspective led naturally into international business leadership. As a Founding Member of Sri Road — a Sri Lankan-owned company based in Beijing bridging China-Sri Lanka trade — and later as Chief Strategy Officer at Ceylon Tips, Sri Lanka's award-winning premium export brand recognised by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka, Darshana built a reputation as a sharp strategic thinker who understands both people and organisations.

But behind every business decision was a deeper question — what truly makes people change, grow, and thrive?

That question led him to his true calling. Today, Darshana is a certified practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, NLP Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Time Line Therapy®, and Train the Trainer — accredited through ABNLP. He founded Gurutharuva with one clear mission: to build Sri Lanka's most impactful life transformation platform — online, in person, and in the wild.
